This blog is about the cover of the box of the cereal brand, Rice Krispies. After gathering data and processing it, we have released our information about the box and claim of having 25% of the daily nutrients and antioxidants. Our information is as follows:
1. The source of the data comes from the website of the Kellog's corporation and an independent website.
1. The source of the data comes from the website of the Kellog's corporation and an independent website.
2. We think that the company website gave biased information and the independent website gave unbiased information.
3. We know that they would have both gone through the experimentation method of gathering data to gather such scientific data and formula.
4. The box tells us that 25% of the needed daily intake can be consumed. It makes the reader feel enticed to buy because it might seem healthier than other cereal brands.
5. If we were to compare the data from the two sources, we would say that the indecent group has more correct data than the company because it would have less bias and more scientific proof.
6. The box only states that it contains 25% of the daily value antioxidants and nutrients without any solid evidence such as the amount cereal of cereal needed to be consumed before reaching the percentage stated on the box. This means that they are trying to tell us that it is healthy without telling us what the contents of the product is.
Mathematical Reasoning
Based on the presented data, from the nutritional labels on the boxes, it tells us that it has completely 25% of all needed daily value of nutrients and antioxidants. However, based on the statistics coming from our source, a website that calculates how much nutrients you get from each serving of cereal, the cereal Rice Krispies contains no vitamin A, C and calcium which are some of the most important nutrients needed for a healthy lifestyle. However the cereal does contain 25% of the needed daily zinc, vitamin b, and iron intake. When one does add this up, it does not come close to the 25% specified on the box, but only a mere 13% of the daily needs. Based on this, we can safely say that Rice Krispies has over estimated it so-called 25% scheme by almost double.
